The Baker's Pantry

A well-stocked pantry is a baker's best friend. If you take a little time to think about what you  like to bake/cook ,and then shop for pantry essentials, you should have things basically under control. If you already have your staples purchased, then your baking should go smoothly. This list contains items that I use every  season.Keep in mind,I do a tremendous amount of baking,so you may not need all of these things for your pantry, but it will give you a basic idea of some necessities for your kitchen.I also use some high end items, such as Valrhona Chocolate..this can be pricey,so purchase the best chocolate possible within your budget...Scharffen Berger & Ghiradelli are also good.As far as vanilla and the other extracts go,I find that the best are made by Nielsen-Massey..again,in a pinch, you can't go wrong with McCormick, just make sure it is PURE and not IMITATION!Most importantly, have fun...try to enjoy yourself, and don't make it a chore.....your belly will thank you!Happy Baking!

***Keep your freezer stocked with butter, and cream cheese in your refrigerator...this should round out your ingredient stash!
