A few weeks ago, I held a cookie decorating class at a local church. The day before the scheduled class,we had a blizzard. It was windy, cold and messy outside. I have to thank all the ladies who braved the slick roads and slush to come and have a fun evening together. They were a fun group of ladies and youngsters, and we all enjoyed our evening. A special thank you to my friend Mary, who captured the event on film(is that even a thing anymore)?
Due to the storm, the cute Valentine placemats I ordered didn't arrive on time, so we used parchment paper instead.
We worked on the basics of cookie decorating, filling a pastry bag,how much pressure to put on the bag while decorating, outlining and flooding cookies.
Once they felt comfortable, we moved on to adding flowers to the cookies.
The ladies were clearly having a fun evening.
At the end of the night, they showed off their creations, packed them up and took them home to enjoy.
Some of them even wore a little bit of the icing! A fun night for all. Looking forward to some spring classes.

Valentine's Day
I also made a nice set of Valentine chocolate covered pretzels and cookie favors for a Valentine get together.
Someone requested a mini platter with pretzels and chocolate covered Oreos. It was very cute!
Chocolate covered pretzels are always popular, especially for Valentine's Day.
Another friend, who works for Tiffany & Co. ,asked to have some personalized hearts made up for her department.
Here is a random addition to this post, simply because it was so delicious! I made a broccoli-cheddar tart for my sweethearts!
Now, it is time to get the shamrock cookies going. Here are some I made last year. Love the patterns, so I will be making them again this March.

Winter Cookies
I have been quite busy the last few weeks. Here are a few of the cookies I've been working on. The platter above was for a family about to move into their new home! Exciting! Next, I made chocolate covered pretzels and snowflake cookies for a baby shower. The theme was "Baby It's Cold Outside." The pretzels were part of a hot chocolate bar and the cookies were placed at each place setting atop a mini baby carriage.
I also made a few winter themed platters for book clubs and other gatherings.
Birthday parties for kids are always fun. Here are some emoji cookie topped cupcakes I made. I was pleased with the way these turned out.
My kids are always looking for a sweet treat after school, so I made them some snowflakes.
They lasted all of ten seconds in this house! I also made a baseball themed gift basket for a young man for his 21st birthday. Many goodies in this one. Hope he enjoyed them all.
With Valentine's Day approaching, I decided to make some heart cookies and chocolate covered pretzels.
"Loved"making those.Of course, I had to make some sweets for Superbowl Sunday. Here are two platters made for friends. What a game it was! Congrats to the Pats!
Well, this week, I will be prepping for a Valentine cookie decorating class as well as preparing for Valentine's Day next week! Lots to do!
I will be back next week with a few new recipes so be sure to check in!
Have a sweet week!
