Chocolate Rugelach

Here's the recipe. This is a great make ahead dessert, just freeze before baking and pull out when you need something sweet & delicious!Makes 4 dozen.
2 sticks of unsalted butter,softened
1-8oz.pkg. of cream cheese, softened(use a bar of cream cheese, not whipped)
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c.sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. mini chocolate chips
1/4 c.finely chopped walnuts
4 tbsp.milk
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.Set aside.
In the bowl of a mixer,or using a hand held mixer, blend butter & cream cheese together.Add salt.On low speed, add flour until the dough comes together.Divide the dough into four pieces, and flatten each into a disk.Wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Roll out one of the disks on a lightly floured surface.Sprinkle 2 tbsp. of the cinnamon/sugar mix, then then some chips and some nuts(you may need more ,depending on your taste.)
Cut the circle into 12 pie-shaped pieces.Roll each wedge up from the outside in,then place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.Brush with a little milk.Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. When they start to brown, they should be done.
After they cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.....although I find it hard to wait until they are cool. They are delicious warm with a cold glass of milk!

Repeat with the remaining three disks,or freeze the dough for later use.
