Waffles

This is a delicious recipe for waffles,so much better than that stuff in the box.My son Timmy loves this recipe so much, that when we had an opportunity to meet Martha Stewart at a book signing,he gave her a copy and told her that she should try it!!I wonder if she ever did.......
  1-3/4 c. flour
  1 tbsp. sugar
  2 tsp. baking powder
  1/2 tsp. salt
  1 tsp. vanilla
  1-1/2 c. milk
  1 stick of better,melted & slightly cooled
   3 eggs,separated
In a large bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients, except the sugar, together.Add the melted butter, egg YOLKS ONLY,vanilla & milk.
In the bowl of your mixer, mix the egg whites & sugar until stiff peaks form.It should look like the photo above.
Gently fold the egg whites into the flour mixture.Heat your waffle iron and spoon about 8oz of batter onto
it.Don't put more than that,as it will ooze out the sides of your waffle iron.Bake until your waffle iron beeps(about 5 minutes).Repeat with remaining batter.Enjoy with some butter & maple syrup! This recipe makes about 6 waffles, depending on the size of your machine.
Above is Timmy speaking with Martha!

****Another great way to enjoy these is to skip the butter and maple syrup, and instead add a scoop of vanilla ice-cream & chocolate syrup! My hubby's favorite!
